I’ve always been my favorite person to photograph.. not in a vain way, but in the “do your makeup, get dressed up, take pictures of yourself, upload them to MySpace” kind of way. It’s always been a form of creative expression. This is that, just a little more grown up now. Since May 2025, I’ve committed to a 12 month self-portrait series to challenge myself, stretch my creativity, and see if I can bring my wandering ideas to life. As Frida Kahlo said, “I am my own muse, I am the subject I know best. The subject I want to know better.”

May - The Finale

My final self-portrait of the year. I've loved creating, learning, growing, giving myself a challenge, diving more into my creativity to create all these versions of myself.

May is my birthday month, I turned 33 this year and as a Taurus baby I had to be surrounded by flowers. My first favorite things to photograph were myself and flowers, so this made sense. I've been seeing butterflies everywhere lately, and it seems to be a sign of hopefully a beautiful next adventure in life and photography.

Thanks for following along friends.

April

The lore lately is that I keep the soul of a sailor in the necklace I wear, and that it's best not to go into the sea with me... come on in.

Inspired by the sirens, butterflies, mermaids & the ocean...

March

Inspired by feeling angsty and that I do, unfortunately, think smoking looks very cool.

February

Inspired by love, romance, love, lust, all that ooey gooey magic

January

I was less than inspired this month, once again finding myself distracted & procrastinating.. with the month slowly fading away. So, one evening, as I sat in the bathtub, I thought.. bathroom pics it is. Juist a girl with wet hair, no makeup (okay I tossed on lipstick & some glitter) a tripod & a galaxy light she forgot she had .. against the world 👽

December

Someone get me on the cover of an old school romance novel. I was inspired by my love of all the I SPY books, particularly the Fantasy one. I love the idea of fantasy, romance, play. . Walter Wick is the photographer of the I SPY books & I find his creations so fascinating... there's something really special about the thought & details that go into it all... pictures that make you stay and linger, my favorite.

November

I just wanted a simple, cool portrait this month. I had a stack of old Archie comics that were collecting dust, so I made them into this backdrop, covered it in glitter and voila!

October

Inspired by the idea of 'Devil in Disguise' or 'Dancing in the woods with the Devil'

September

Inspired by Aphrodite

August

Inspired by nothing other than spending Summer nights trying to shoot a 3 pointer for something to do

July

Inspired by procrastination, time getting away from me, and the song "She's in Love with a Camera" by The Struts / taken in about 10 minutes in a makeshift studio in my apartment

June

Inspired by being sad in the Summertime

May

The start of my self-portrait journey. These pictures were just for fun, playing with a new lens I got, when I decided I wanted to create something every month, with a bit more intention. Here's to a year of creating something cool & seeing the progress, creativity and expression along the way.
