Meet Emily: Moody Frames, Sunny Disposition

I’ve been photographing for as long as I can remember. Somewhere along the way, I learned that I can find beauty in almost anything.

I’m drawn to cool people, funky little details, beautiful light, busy rooms, quiet moments, good faces, weird faces, and anything that feels like there’s a story behind it.

My favourite images are the ones that make you linger a little longer—the kind you revisit and notice something new each time. Like the nostalgia of an I Spy book, but with more mood, more skin, more eyeliner and better lighting.

I photograph people in ways that feel natural, bold and true to them. Sometimes that means portraits, branding, music, events, creative projects or boudoir. Sometimes it’s a little bit of everything. And sometimes it’s just me, my camera and a tripod, frolicking around somewhere trying to bring a self-portrait to life.

To me, photography is about paying attention: to the energy in the room, the tiny moments others might miss, the way someone softens when they’re comfortable or comes alive when they feel seen.

Boudoir is part of that too—not as a separate, overly serious thing, but as another way of making art with people. It can be soft, bold, playful, weird, emotional, hot, funny, powerful or all of the above. Mostly, it’s about showing up for yourself and letting that be enough.

At the heart of it, my work is an ode to beauty, art, music, bodies, stories and the human form. A little dark, a little divine, and made best with thoughtful, curious people.
